Hello! My name is Iman Adhami, a Los Angeles based

photographer specializing in product photography. I fell in love with the art and science of photography after assisting my sister Ellie photographing a variety of assorted balloons for a photography class - this first assisting job introduced me to composition, color theory, camera functions, and production. With that fire in me, I joined the yearbook staff my junior and senior years of high school as the main photographer. After graduation, I gave in to cultural and familial pressures to pursue a more familiar career, and I put my love of photography on hold to major in “pre-med” and later “pre-law”; but after receiving my Bachelors of Arts in political science from UCLA, I was wandering and ended up as a substitute teacher for a couple of years in various LAUSD schools. With the passion of photography still burning in me, I abandoned those other options and focused on my calling of becoming a professional photographer. After one of many evenings of discussions and Mario Cart with close friends, I decided to enroll in the Photography Program at Santa Monica College that summer with my dear friend Kasra. This marked the beginning of my academic career in professional photography. I continued the photography program at SMC for the next two years, meeting wonderful teachers and classmates who taught me not only the basics of shooting and printing and editing, but also strengthening my love for photography. Working diligently I was referred by my professor Ford Lowcock for an assisting job with architectural photographer Benny Chan; and making a life-long friendship with a classmate, I was recommended for my first photography job by Vanessa Heinz Waring for beauty e-commerce site Dermstore a few years after; in my tenure there I built a strong team of photographers and retouchers, and we elevated the site images to a much higher standard. Partially based on our strong visuals, Target acquired Dermstore, and we later became a business interest and entity of UK based The Hut Group.
